GRS is not limited to verifying a percentage of recycled material. It combines certification of recycled content and chain of custody with social, environmental and chemical requirements applicable to the processing stages concerned.
The training provides a structured, operational understanding of GRS v5.0 and also explains its transition to the Materials Matter Standard.
Understand GRS to apply it more effectively
The Global Recycled Standard aims to verify the recycled content and chain of custody of certified materials and products. Compared with RCS, it adds social, environmental and chemical requirements for the operations concerned.
Understanding GRS means connecting recycled material, chain of custody, certification, evidence, processing requirements and communication — without confusing certification of a system with the company’s overall performance.

Who is this training for?
Intended audience
Professionals required to understand, use, implement or manage GRS: senior management, CSR / sustainability, purchasing and sourcing, quality and compliance, product / collection, production and operations, certification and traceability, marketing and communication.
It is also suitable for teams wishing to share a common understanding of GRS in order to better coordinate their responsibilities within the certification system.
Prerequisites
No specific prerequisites. General knowledge of one’s activities and the textile value chain helps put the requirements into perspective.

The training combines structured input, guided reading of reference documents, textile-sector examples, discussion with participants and short practical exercises. Requirements are placed in context: material, product, activity, function concerned, risk, expected action and associated evidence.

For in-company training, examples and exercises can be contextualised according to the organisation’s activities, products and challenges. Any significant adaptation of the programme or creation of specific content is subject to an additional quotation.
Assess learning outcomes and support progress
Before the training
An initial questionnaire identifies participants’ starting level of knowledge, their experience of GRS and their main needs.
During the training
Understanding is checked progressively through discussions, questions, exercises and practical applications.
At the end
A learning-outcomes assessment verifies achievement of the teaching objectives. It is complemented by a satisfaction survey. Each participant receives a certificate of completion.

Accessibility. For in-company training, the host company is responsible for the venue’s physical accessibility. If a participant requires specific arrangements, please inform us in advance so that we can consider suitable teaching adaptations together. For sessions organised directly by Loometic, accessibility is taken into account when selecting the venue and organising the training.
